Seasonal Planting
At Synergy Landscape Group, our team of expert landscapers knows the best time to plant your annuals will depend on what type of flower you are wanting at your home or commercial location. They are put into two different categories: warm-season and cool-season. The category the blooms are put into depends on their hardiness and ability to grow in cool soils.
Cool Season
These tend to grow best in cooler soils and with mild temperatures during the spring and fall months. They are able to withstand heavy frosts, and when the weather gets too hot, they will set seed and start deteriorating. These are often planted in early spring – typically when the soil is workable. They bloom in large bursts with strong roots.
Warm Season
These tend to grow best during warmer months of the year, such as during late spring and summer. They may die if they are grown too early in the spring and experience a heavy frost. This is why they are typically planted during late spring months – April and May. These flowers can be seed grown in pots or planted directly into the earth. These will need to be thoroughly watered, and with a healthy mixture of environmentally-friendly fertilizers that have been added to the soil before planting.
